Salem Outreach 2010

As with every year, the interns did their annual Salem “Haunted Happenings” outreach in October. It was yet another very rewarding and fruitful Salem outreach. Below you can read more about the festivities:

Phil Wyman:

Phil Wyman is the Pastor of the Gathering, a retired bank (now a church), with the original vault still attached. He taught us some very useful techniques on how to approach witches and members of the occult without projecting feelings of condemnation, guilt or judgment. Phil has an amazing patience for these people and they share the same respect towards him. One notable practice he teaches regards how to rid oneself of preconceived notions on neo-paganism, thus being more affective in delivering the love of God to the lost. For example, witches are not likely to put a curse on anyone, as they believe it will return to them times three. Instead, most witches want to bless people so that blessings will be returned to them.

The Events:

There were many different things going on all around us at Salem. Our ministry tent was placed right next to the main stage and there were various bands playing throughout the day, anywhere from rock and rap to opera. We had to compete with the noise level often. One time specifically, they had a scream contest going which made for some interesting conversation in the tent. I believe that a few psychics from the psychic fair made their way into the tent, either to test us or just to receive encouraging destiny insights. There was also a dance competition led by Phil where we got to see a dancing Jesus which was very entertaining. Of course Phil, dressed up as a tree, brought life onto the scene as he stirred up the crowd trying to get them to dance with him. If you ever make your way down to Salem during Halloween hug the Phil tree and he'll yell out, “Tree Hugger!” Apparently the Mayor of Salem is a tree hugger.

Those affected:

There were so many people affected by the presence of the Lord it is hard to pinpoint one type of person. We had psychics, witches, and spiritual seekers with many different kinds of spiritual understandings. We would see people step into the tent with a frown on their face and spirit. God would lay into them through us and those people would leave feeling as though burdens had been lifted off of their shoulders; they had a new smile written on their face. Many of the afflicted felt freedom for the first time either in their lives or in years. People were hungry to hear what God thought about them. Skeptics turned into believers. We were also blessed to see some physical healing coincide with emotional strongholds leaving their spirits. God's desire to love on these people is amazing.

Halloween:

Halloween was pretty crazy. There were so many people in so many amazingly creative costumes. The gift of creativity made its' presence known in all sorts of different people. Some of the people were wearing costumes that specifically related to their God-given character. Nurse costumes worn by ladies who tend to nurture other peoples needs is a direct example of that. Some of our team also dressed up to join in on the festivities too, which was fun. We had a skeleton, a pirate, and Nacho Libre on our crew. Devils and witches stepped into our tent for spiritual readings and as it turns out, even those who would have us believe they are among the worst, are hungry for the word of God. It goes to show that God has a desire to bless the lives of those who are sick and they, in turn, are so starved for spiritual things that they are willing to get spiritual council from total strangers. It is the sick that need the doctor. At night we had a chance to sit outside of the Gathering and enjoy the festivities. People walking by would comment on our costumes and we got to do the same. It was a lot of fun.

Conclusion:

Overall this weekend was a great learning experience. We had a lot of opportunity to learn how to communicate the love of God to those who are hungry for it. Love is both the first and second greatest commandments according to Jesus and it truly is the best way to approach people in general. Everyone has a hunger to hear from God. God speaks to everyone but not everyone has an open ear to hear what God is saying so, they often need a middle man for the communication. We learned (are still learning) to allow God to move through us to deliver His messages. Praise Jesus for all He has done throughout Halloween and all He is going to do. He is faithful to finish the works that He has started and He started a lot of projects these past weekends.

The Intern Blog is Back!

The new interns officially arrived on September 12th and immediately jumped into the extreme intensity of a two-week 101 and 102 course marathon. To accomplish both classes in two weeks took a lot of work and a lot of hours to put into it. Within two weeks we had finished them both. Yet, all of the hard work was totally worth it because we had a new youth convention to lead. We experienced exponential growth in a very short amount of time.

Immediately after finishing the 101 and 102 back-to-back, Scott Evelyn, Josh Young, and the Streams Interns ran a youth conference in Boston, MA called “Presence” and it was amazing. We saw youth, who arrived with little to no confidence, discover a new confidence in the Lord. There was very little unity the first night as we administered inner healing, withdrawing shame and guilt from their lives. In the following days, however, they acted as if the Lord had titled them a team as He filled up their hearts with His unconditional love for each other. They also learned to speak words of knowledge and words of encouragement to one another. Though it was an intimidating feat to delve into, the youth did an outstanding job overcoming their fears and allowing the Holy Spirit to empower them. Through their tears of pain and healing came a new understanding about their relationships with God and each other. It was amazing to watch as the Lord literally transformed the lives of these young people.

Since the youth conference the interns have been settling in, getting some rest and preparing for the Haunted Happenings outreach at Salem. As the Salem outreach grows near, the excitement continues to intensify. We are believing that the Lord will move on the city of Salem in huge ways! We would appreciate any of your prayers during this outreach (October 22-31).

Hey everyone!

It's picture day! Here are some photos from our recent trip to Portland, Maine. We got to explore the city, hang out with Cindy Kay and her church for a lobster and steak BBQ, and set up our dream interpretation tents at the Old Port Festival. It was a beautiful last outreach trip for the interns.

PS. Intern graduation is this Sunday, June 20th on the Pinnacle Prayer Mountain! We are so excited!

On The Pinnacle...

"With an atmosphere that fosters rich prayer and worship, The Pinnacle Prayer Mountain was an ideal place to host a 12 hour service devoted to intercession on behalf of the U.S. The essence of our Father's heart for our nation and where it's headed could be felt in a very thick and real way. This "essence" was also the inspiration that fueled both intercession and worship throughout the day.

Beginning at 9am, the service began with amazing worship led by one of The Bridge Pinnacle Mountain's worship teams. The atmosphere began to thicken as a result of worship to the Father and a spirit of intercession was released. Every hour a different intercessor led prayer on specific topics. Some of the themes included: the government, our president, schools/colleges, youth, New England revival, abortion, repentance, persecution, and many more.

Aside from the prayer and worship, perhaps the most powerful aspect of the day was the spirit of unity that fell on those who participated in the service. It was truly amazing to watch as individuals who are young in their call to intercession stood up with boldness and authority on issues close to their heart. The support and unity of the group helped encourage people to step out into unknown territory. Some literally experienced months of growth in just one service.

The National Day of Prayer was no doubt another small, but important step taken towards fulfilling the destiny of the mountain as a place of powerful intercession and worship. The atmosphere on The Pinnacle continues to hunger for more activity similar to what was experienced on the National Day of Prayer."

Tomorrow morning the interns are going on their very last road trip/outreach of the year, this time to Maine! We drive up tomorrow, and will spend four days all around the state. We'll do some outreaches at churches, colleges, and festivals, then we will come home for our last week as interns before the summer begins.

This outreach is sure to be a fun one, Maine is beautiful and the church's we will be visiting love the interns like their own. We will also get a chance to do tent ministry at the Old Port Festival in Portland, Maine. Can't wait!

The Interns At Northshore

Last Sunday the interns got to do a service at the Northshore Bridge in Beverly, Mass. This was the second time we've been there this year, and it is always such a blessing whenever we get to go.

We drove down on Saturday afternoon and got to have dinner at the church and do some prayer ministry with the pastor, Drew Mcgee. We learned a new prayer technique called 'Crafted Prayer' where we each take about an hour of individual time with the Lord and ask Him what's on His heart for the church. Then we gather together again, share what we felt, then craft a prayer according to the common threads we found when combining all of our topics.

It was really powerful, and incredibly accurate, as we interns didn't know much about the church or what it was going through. The revelation we got from the Lord was completely objective and unbiased, so we knew it was legit! It was really great to learn a new way to pray and intercede as a group, a fresh idea.

Sunday morning we participated in worship with their leader, Josh Young. Then Lance shared a little bit about what we do as a ministry and what God's been doing with us on the Pinnacle. Liz, Kyle, and Andy also got to speak about their personal experiences so far as Streams interns. Their transparency was so sweet and brought about a lot of change in the people...their growth inspired new growth.

After the service we ministered to all the people; lined them up on the sanctuary perimeter, and laid hands on everyone and anyone who wanted prayer or impartation.

All in all, our trip to Beverly was downright splendid.

Especially when we got to eat delicious food and play croquet, bocce ball, and badminton at the Mcgee's Sunday afternoon BBQ :)

Springtime

And here we go again!

This weekend the interns will once again be leaving the intern house, this time traveling to Beverly, Massachusetts to do a service for the Northshore Bridge. Our intern worship team will be working with Josh Young's worship team (which is going to be awesome!) then we'll be taking the rest of the service from there.

Andy, Kyle, and Liz are going to get up and share a few testimonies about how they were transformed since being a part of this program, then we'll get to do some ministry with the body! We're really looking forward to melding with Northshore, and fellowshipping with the people.

I'll post more when we get back...pictures, testimonies, etc.

We are really excited to get to minister to the body again! Last time we did this it was a mutual blessing for both the body and the Streams interns. They are so kind and accommodating.

Just a little while later we'll be headed off to Portland, Maine for another big outreach! More info on that one to come...

Back From NYC!

And we're back.

The interns' trip to Long Island and NYC went so well! We were welcomed like family among the Long Island Bridge, and let me tell you, they fed us like family too. Such a warm welcome from a warm group of people.

After the 6 hours of driving in our big intern van, we arrived at the church and were served a beautiful meal by Nadine Zawacki, the pastor's wife. After dinner we got to sit and chat with both Tom and Nadine and get to know their hearts and passions in ministry.

Then we helped out the church members and participated in a work day, where we threw out a whole dumpster full of church junk that "needed to go see Jesus!" Another great meal was had, and the next morning we set out for New York City for an adventuresome day full of crazy events in the big apple.

We spent the day in the city - went to times square, saw ground zero, walked around central park, saw the empire state building and the statue of liberty, and pretty much saw the entire city when we got lost in the van while looking for a parking spot...it's like finding a needle in a haystack, trust me. But it turned out to be a beautiful day for walking!

After some ministry at the church that night and then some much needed rest, we led the service on Sunday morning, and it was so great to minister to the people. We did worship, a few intern testimonies, and prayer/impartation over every person at the end. We got some great feedback from the people, which was very encouraging!

More From UCONN...

Everyone, be prepared for me to rock your worlds yet again...I know, I know, you're probably thinking "geez Jourdan, stop it already! I just can't take all this awesomeness!" but you'll live. Really.

So here's the big secret:

I got testimonies from UCONN...just like I promised :)

I gotta be careful, or I'll get a big head from all this following through I've been doing lately.

This testimony is from Matthew Keating, a 2nd year leader:

"While we were at UCONN we ministered to several Hindus. One group of three of them came in a little skeptical. First, we ministered to the young woman. We spoke several detailed words of knowledge to her about her childhood but we veiled the words to keep her covered because she was obviously abused and we did not want to openly say, “You were abused.” The young lady knew that God saw her pain and wanted to heal her.

As we finished ministering to the young lady I felt one man's skepticism even though we had accurately prophesied over his friend. So I turned to him and said “I feel you appraising our words. You are wondering how we can know these things and it is hard for you to believe that we do. That appraisal is a gift that God gave you to be able to protect people and act wisely. You appraise, analyze, and weigh out everything.” All three of them looked at each other and laughed. Immediately his life and destiny opened up to us.

Next we ministered to the third man. He was a seer, and very creative, but had been very hurt by people all his life because of his personality and gifting. We ministered healing to him and a Father's blessing. All of them were blown away and wanted to hear more about God the Creator." -Matthew Keating

And from David Boda, 2nd year intern:

"I had a young man sit down in front of me in the tent who, after my team finished giving him and his friends words, asked us if he could give us some words as well. At first I was taken aback but then I told him that he could; by all means.

He proceeded to tell each of the people on our team very true things about ourselves. It turns out that he had a strong gift of revelation and had known things about people he couldn't have known by natural means all of his life. He told me something that I needed to hear and it just goes to show how God can speak through any person He wants.

A couple nights before we showed up at UCONN this young man had a dream about coming to our tents, as they look in reality, and meeting the two leaders of our program. The Holy Spirit had prepared him for our showing up and the student said that the things our team had said to him had really encouraged him. It showed me how there are gifted people walking around all over the place, with gifts that God has stuck into them; it is such an honour to be able to point them to the Giver of all those gifts." - David Boda

We really had some great encounters at UCONN this year...Quite frankly, if we as Christians just go out into the world and start doing something, He will always meet us there. He loves His people, even the ones drowning in darkness...and He is always looking for ways to touch their hearts. We are simply vessels of His love. That's how we see it anyway.

Connecticut - What We Did!

Well! Our road-trip to Connecticut proved even better than any of our highest expectations. Our host families were amazing, the churches we ministered at loved us like family, and our days at UCONN were awesome. It seemed like everywhere we went we had favor.

First we visited Wellspring Church in Berlin, CT and ministered to the youth there for a few days. We got to talk about dreams and prophetic words with the 'Clearvoice' youth prophetic group, which was very cool. Then we met with the rest of the youth and split up in smaller groups to talk to them about intimacy with God and the prophetic. All the youth were very hungry, so it was easy to minister to them and talk with them about how God speaks.

The next day we met with the adult Clearvoice team to just encourage them with where they're at and help them take some steps toward where they're going. They are an awesome group, and it was so exciting to talk with them about stepping outside of the church walls and doing ministry on the street. Their hearts' desire was to reach people outside of the body...those who need it most. It was amazing to minister to them and encourage them in this new season!

The next day we went to River of Life Church in Tolland, CT (about 45 mins away). The interns shared lunch with them then we teamed up to do Dream Surveys at UCONN.

Dream surveys are basically just tools to help us interact with people about dreams without them feeling pressured or awkward...It's really just a clipboard with four or five questions on it, asking about how often they dream, if they have reoccurring dreams, if they have one we could interpret right now, etc. We say we are students learning about dreams and just ask them to help us out with a quick survey. They love it! Sometimes it even opens the door to talk about deeper stuff, without it being weird or offensive.

So that was our first day at UCONN. The next day, however, we got to do the big stuff :) We finally got amazing favor with the people there to set up our tent and do Dream Interpretation and Life Readings on their 'Spring Weekend' event. Spring weekend is basically a big festival where they do oozeball tournaments (mud volleyball), have live music, games, blow up toys, and everybody gets drunk. It's awesome.

There were SO many good testimonies of college students that got touched by the Lord, I'll have to save them for another post...

After a full day at UCONN we went back to Wellspring for their college-aged group called 'Elevate'. That. Was. Spectacular...truly. We didn't really do much ministry there, but we did get to worship and sit in on the message, and just get to know some of the youth there that were actually our age! We did end up doing some personal ministry at the end with a few individuals, but that's to be expected. It seems that when "the interns are in town" people want to get the most out of us while we're there, so we usually end up doing ministry even if it's not planned :)

After that we went back to River of Life Church on Sunday morning and the interns joined in on the worship team then hung out with the church members after service for a relaxing afternoon. That night we had another youth group to minister to, so we had to get our rest in! James did worship with some of us interns then we got to lead the whole service and talk with the River of Life youth about dreams and prophetic words. We even did prophetic exercises with them, and that was a blast.

That night we left Connecticut for our beloved state of New Hampshire. It was a fun trip...exhausting, but fun.

Hopefully I can get up some pics and testimonies about our outreaches in CT next time. I feel like there's still so much to tell! Oh well. This post already seemed a bit long. You get a gold star if you read it all the way through :)

Traveling Interns

Under The Green Tree was amazing!

So much better than I could have ever imagined. The speakers were so great, and the interns even got to spend some time with them on breaks which was really fun. They shared some of their own personal stories and got to know the interns as well.

Steve Thompson and Loren Sandford each had truly profound messages that made every person in the congregation think hard about things they used to see as absolute truths, when in reality they needed to be re-examined and possibly even thrown out the window. They both broke a lot of boxes this weekend. It was great!

John Paul was amazing, as always. He had a great word on what it means to be a warrior, among other things, of course! We got to spend a whole lunch time with him, just JP and the interns. That was super fun because we all went around the table and got to share what was happening inside our hearts since coming to the internship. He is our spiritual father, and it was inexplicably awesome to get to spend time with him for a while and talk about where the internship is at. Then we also got to spend some impromptu time with him in the middle of the night on Friday. We all stayed up (some of us made it longer than others lol) till about 4am talking with John Paul and John Thomas (the pastor of the Metrowest Bridge). What an honor to be with them for so long, just talking like good friends would. It was such a blessing.

Now we are heading out to Connecticut to visit the River of Life Church in Tolland and the Wellspring Church in Berlin. We leave tomorrow afternoon! This trimester is going to be a busy one...lots of traveling. We love it though!

Under The Green Tree

Interns, pack your bags....

It's conference time!

So stoked for this weekend at the Metrowest Bridge in Natick, Massachusetts for the "Under The Green Tree" conference with John Paul Jackson, Loren Sandford, Steve Thompson, and John Thomas. To get info on the conference, or for registration info, visit the Metrowest Bridge Website.

We are so stoked to go to this conference...not long ago we visited Metrowest for another awesome conference called 'Kingdom Mechanics'. See that post here. As for the interns, we haven't actually gotten any face-time with John Paul yet this year, so as you can imagine, we're really looking forward to formally meeting and getting some group time with the father of this ministry!

I think the Lord is really going to do some incredible things in the people at this conference, and we're all really blessed to be a part of it. I can just feel the expectation in the air and in the spirit!

As for the Pinnacle, things are going very well with the weather being so nice. We are starting to notice the changes in the spirit after each time we spend time on the mountain. It's like placing little charges in the spirit, every time we go up just bringing our worship and sacrifice...until the atmosphere becomes so electrically charged that it has to explode. I guess you can say we are just waiting for that explosion :)

The Beginning of a New Season

The interns have each been returning to New Hampshire over the past few days. During Spring break some of us returned home to visit with family while others stayed here. Those who remained enjoyed fishing, rock climbing, relaxing by lakes, traveling to Maine for a day of eating lobster and shopping, some good fellowship time, and even an Easter egg hunt.

Those of us who stayed also traveled to Boston for a day of shopping, fine dining, and some unforeseen ministry. After dinner one of us told our waiter at the restaurant that we attended a school for spirituality and we would like to use our gifts to encourage him. He agreed and was blown away. After prophesying to him and giving him several words of knowledge, we encouraged him to seek God the Creator for more understanding about spirituality and his life.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of our Spring Trimester. Now that we have all been through the Streams dream courses, we will be traveling to Dartmouth University for a dream interpretation outreach. During the outreach we will be approaching University students and asking them to take a quick survey about dreams. The final question on the survey is "Do you have a dream you would like interpreted right now?" Many times we have powerful encounters after simply asking people about their dreams.

Next week we will be traveling to the greater Boston area for the "Under The Green Tree" conference with John Paul and other speakers. We are all anticipating some good teaching and ministry.

Spring Break!

We are now a couple of days into our Spring break! Some of the interns have gone home to be with their families, others have decided to stay here and relax for a well needed break... rest is good in allowing us to slow down and have a chance to seek Father's perspective in the present circumstance. So far the weather has been rainy which adds to the "lazy day" feeling. I have never been a big fan of these days, finding boredom comes easily, but to be honest, it's been quite nice. With the ones who have stayed back, we have watched one of our new favorites "Man vs Wild", and the classic, "The Office". I have been able to do some recording and am working on a new Pinnacle video, which will be done soon!

As for the update on the Metro West youth group, we had an amazing time! These kids are great! The Spirit poured into them throughout the whole weekend! The youth showed up around 5 and after dinner we fellowshipped with each other, then we prayed and prophesied over them. Why not just dive right in? :) The next morning we had dream interpretation with Scott and the youth shared some powerful dreams. After lunch, we went up to the Pinnacle to show them around the mountain so they could experience the high place and the Lord's presence. Jourdan also led us into another wonderful time of worship and then we headed back for dinner. After dinner, Kyle and I had aligned out some games that we would be playing for the evening. I can't remember the name of the game we played, but it's kind of like telephone charades. One person from the first team would act out a scene (like changing a tire) and the second team would have to act out the scene, one bye one, only going by what they have been shown from their team member who went before them. Excellent game, great fun!

We were blessed to have the time with this youth group. I believed we both gave and received from each other and are grateful to have had a chance to build relationship! Thank you for coming Metro West youth!

Thursday Update:

Today we are preparing for the Metrowest kids to come and stay with us over the weekend. We are so beyond excited to have them here at the intern house, and can't wait to fellowship and hang out with them...I remember being a youth group kid, and the wonder that surrounded a grown-up road trip. I'm sure they're just as excited as we are :) Anyways, can't wait to meet them all!! We will blog all about the weekend's happenings after the weekend's over.

A fresh start this week of rain

This past weekend Scott taught the 202 class, "Advanced Workshop of Dreams & Visions". This course has deeper teaching in the understanding of dreams and supernatural events, but is focused on training and equipping the students for dream interpretation. There were a lot of powerful dreams shared that brought forth both healing and understanding to individuals in the class. Scott taught the class how to enter in a dream and feel where the weight is, or what God is breathing on. For each dream, he used the cluster method to show us how to diagram, finding the focus and sub-focuses and then writing in the details pertaining to each sub-focus. I am still amazed at how much God speaks to us in the night season! For me, dreams have easily been written off because of their nature being full of riddles or dark speech, but every time I interpret one or see dream being interpreted, I am reminded how powerful they are and the depth God speaks to us! Dreams truly are astounding... We all learned a ton, but by the end of the weekend some of us were pretty fried.. Interpreting dreams can be a lot of work!

Coming up this weekend, we will have the Metro West Bridge youth group staying with us and hanging out! They will arrive here sometime on Friday and stay with us until Sunday. There will be teaching, games, chit chats, and ministry for these young men and woman of God! We are hoping to be a blessing to them, and to impart what Spirit would have them receive.

Since today, and the rest of the week will be rainy, the Pinnacle is cancelled tonight. I don't know what the road looks like, but I imagine it is pretty muddy. Hopefully we will be able to get up there sometime this week!

Our Weekend At Northshore

Last Sunday the interns took a little road trip to Beverly, Mass to do a service for the Northshore Bridge Church. Their usual worship leader (Josh Young) is in Australia and the pastor was scheduled for teaching a 202 class so he asked the interns to come to the church and do worship & minister to the body out of what we've gained from the Pinnacle mountain.

We started out with some worship, then Ali got up and spoke on the intern program and all the things God is doing within Streams School of Ministry. Then she called up the rest of the interns to give words over the body/individuals the Lord highlighted to us. Most of us got prophetic words for people and the congregation, and it was great to share that with the body.

After the guest speaker finished, we did prophetic teams and dream teams after the service, all made up of interns and intern leaders. Lots of people came up for ministry, or to get a dream interpreted and many of them got touched by the Lord. We even saw a few people get physically healed! One woman we ministered to got healed of a thyroid issue, as well as some profound emotional healing. There were some truly beautiful, deep things happening under the surface in the hearts of the people there.

I think a lot of them got more emotional healing than they signed up for!
"the Lord's delight is in those who honor him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love." - Psalm 147:11

Shotguns, worship, and Rob Mazza

We have had a busy week.

First on Saturday we headed up to the Pinnacle to clean the tents and fix the road.

On Monday, our day off, several of us interns went to an old rock quarry to shoot skeets. First, Lance (one of our intern leaders) instructed us in gun safety and then soon we were shooting away. Although none of us were pro shooters we had lots of fun.

Then we had a surprise visit from Rob Mazza. He taught about speaking the Father's blessing over those we minister to, and awakening the human spirit. Then he began to speak this blessing over the interns. We normally have work duties in the afternoon but the ministry was so powerful we decided to receive instead of work, like Mary, instead of Martha.

As you know from previous posts we have been spending a lot of time on the Pinnacle Mountain and Rob also joined us last night in our humble tent as we worshiped the Creator. When we left the Mountain, We headed to Scott and Barb Evelyn's house for fellowship and some refreshments with Rob.

Tonight Jourdan led worship. The music and intercession is beginning to mix and become one. First we may sing and soon we are spontaneously praying, then singing again.

Tomorrow morning we are headed up for a personal devotion time on the Mountain. We are really pressing into the Lord for a greater measure of His manifest presence.

Spring's-a-Comin!

Today we went to the Pinnacle at an odd time for the interns...9 am!

Our routine usually consists of work duties in the afternoon, then eating dinner, then going to the Pinnacle for evening corporate prayer/worship with some other church members. Today, however, we decided to go up in the morning and have a little individual time spent with the Lord.

We interns were encouraged to bring creative things such as paints, sketching pencils, notepads, or whatever else we felt led to do while on the mountain. It was a time set aside for our personal relationship with the Lord. Some of us stayed in the tent by the warm fire, and some of us ventured into the wild woody mountainside...I decided to take my beloved camera up to the top with me to get some good winter pics. It looks like spring is near. I wanted to make sure I got some good snowy Pinnacle pics before it all melts again.

We Lived!

We did it!

3 days of no power, and we survived.

Can you believe it.

We still have the snowboard ramp out back, and it is so much fun! We're all taking turns sledding and riding down it with boards, then fixing it up when one of us biffs hard. It's a blast.

Staying Warm..

Hey there everyone,

We are currently in a power outage! They say it could last up to seven days from now, so as of right now we are just hanging in there. We have no heat or water in our house, and most of the interns are staying at church-member's homes each night to keep warm.

So far we are sitting by the fire, eating hot soup, and playing in the snow...we built a ramp & jump out back to snowboard on...woohoo! I'll get pics up of that soon.

I'll try to keep you posted on all the stuff going on around here, but it might prove difficult due to loss of electricity :)

Understanding Dreams and Visions

This weekend we hosted the Streams 201 class, 'Understanding Dreams and Visions' taught by our very own Scott Evelyn.

The 201 is the introduction to all things dreamy, a course which will challenge your brain like it's never been challenged before. It gives the foundation for dreams found in the bible, and explains why and how God uses them to speak to us today.

Then it goes into symbols and color meanings and name meanings and focuses and subfocuses and dream categories and number relevance and...oh boy, my hand is cramping up all over again just thinking about it!

There were tons of notes being written, but it was all just too good to miss. We then got to practice interpreting some dreams and I am sure we will continue to practice interpreting our dreams within the intern group as they come up...or as the interns enter the kitchen for breakfast and all over their face reads "oh my goodness that dream was caaa-rayzee! who wants to interpret it??" Which, my friends, happens all the time.

I think we're all glad to have this amazing course under our belts for such a time as this.

This weekend we are hosting a Streams 201 "Understanding Dreams and Visions" course at the intern house!

Today will be full of cleaning and mopping and dusting and cooking for our meals in advance - preparing for the event...we love having people over!

Family Meeting No. 1

Hey all,

A couple of weeks ago, Scott Evelyn gave the church a message about a new vision the Lord gave him about the Pinnacle and our body. I've already talked to you guys about the new things going on with the mountain, and how we believe the Lord is preparing us for a move of God up on the Pinnacle. See here and here (under Pinnacle update).

So Scott shared this new vision with the church, and it was amazing...radical, but amazing. This next year is definitely going to be an influential one for our body.

This last Sunday we decided to have a "family meeting". That way the congregation could have an opportunity to bring up questions or comments they had about the things Scott shared the previous week.

It went really well for being the first time!

People were able to voice their questions and/or concerns and it made for some pretty open communication between the body and Scott. It was definitely needed, and the majority of the congregation already had questions saved up from the previous Sunday.

Communication is key to a functioning relationship - I think we all know that. So it was really good to have it happen within the church because it put everything out on the table as opposed to keeping them to yourself without proper discussion.

Once we find out more about what will be happening within the church I can better inform you but for now, that is as much as I can share...

As for the interns, we are just going about things as per usual, with a lot more emphasis on the Pinnacle and all the things that are happening up there. So far we've been able to get on the mountain pretty regularly throughout the week, but it really depends on how much snow and ice we get on the access road. We love going up and ministering to the heart of the Lord and watching Him transform our hearts in the process. We believe we are being prepared for a move of God that will completely change everyone involved. It's really quite exciting!

Here are some pictures from the Winter Carnival at Dartmouth! The interns went up to Hanover this last Saturday to just have a laid back day seeing the sights and enjoying the carnival...it was such a blast!

Over the past several years Scott Evelyn has formed relationships with Native Americans from all over North America. A few weeks ago the the school of ministry asked two natives from Nevada, Dan and Elmer, to minister to the students. During their stay a protocol ceremony was performed with Dan, Elmer, some other natives, and our church. New friendships were formed.

Last week were contacted by the local Native American leaders and asked to attend a hearing at the New Hampshire capital building. It was a great honor for us to be invited as non-Natives to be a part of a very historic event. The hearing was years in coming.

The day started with worship of the Creator in the tradition of the Abenaki. We gathered outside the capital building and a couple of the interns and Scott Evelyn were asked to join in on the drum.

The bitterly cold air began to wear on us and we soon headed to a local church for the second part of the day. We had hot, yummy beverages by the church, fellowship amongst the group of interns and Natives, then we finally viewed a short film about the preservation of language and culture of native people.

The climax of our day was the presentation of the House Bill 1610. A local chief named Peter Newell and several other leaders spoke as well as representatives from the government. There will be a vote soon to decide whether or not the Abenaki will be recognized as a people and represented by a council of seven people mostly comprised of natives. Although there was opposition to the bill, we are waiting with hope until the vote in a week or so.

Hey all!

The Seer Course was such a powerful learning experience. There were tons of exercises to make us step out of our boxes, and the teaching was thought provoking and valuable. Jim Driscoll is an amazing teacher, and we all learned so much just from spending those two days learning from him and all of his wisdom.

One of the things he said was,

"the more you use your gift, the less you'll be wrong."

So true! I think a lot of times we revelatory people get scared of using our gift for fear of messing up. When in reality, the more we use our gift the less we'll be wrong; it just takes practice.

Anyways, I will definitely post some pictures from the weekend but I still need to put up these overdue pics from our day of silence hike :)

Pinnacle Update!

The Lord is really starting to show up on the Pinnacle and within our church body. I thought I'd say a little bit about that just to keep everyone informed.

Last Tuesday the interns and a few others went up on the Pinnacle for a night of prayer, which we've been trying to do as often as we can during the week. Our prayer and intercession quickly turned into worship and adoration of the Lord. His presence got so thick that it was all we could do to just worship our Creator with words and song.

Many of the interns got words of knowledge, or visions and experiences that night and we think it's just the beginning of what's to come. We believe there is going to be an outpouring of his presence on the Pinnacle, and our job is to steward the mountain and worship the Lord with our time and praises as often as we can.

We are just looking forward to this move that God wants to bring and waiting on His timing. Waiting and watching...

Road Trip!

Tomorrow afternoon all of the interns will be leaving for 'The Seer Course' with Jim Driscoll at the North Shore Bridge Church in Beverly, Massachusetts.

We will be leaving tomorrow afternoon in the big intern van, driving to the North Shore Bridge, enjoying the evening session, and then staying the night at our respective host homes. Then Saturday has three more sessions - morning, afternoon, and night, and off we go back to the intern house in New London.

It's a quick one :)

We Did It!

Wow.

What a whirlwind of a week.

Monastic week officially ended on Friday evening, around 6pm, and let me tell you...if it was anything (besides being scary-wonderful) it was a bit of a bumpy ride. We all learned a ton and even though it was difficult to stick to all the rules at times, everybody really appreciated the simplicity of a monastic lifestyle.

At first monastic week seemed to be quite a daunting task to undertake. What with no sugars, refined flours, meats, words, and sometimes electricity, looking ahead towards monastic week was an intimidating sight to behold.

But a few days into it I think we all realized how peaceful and beautiful a monastic lifestyle could be. Not having as many words spewing out of our mouths, or even the shoveling of junk food into it, it forced us to think about the simpler things in life. Many of the things we used to rely on were no longer available to us, and it toppled down some of our life-perspectives to make room for some newer, simpler ones:

*many of the things we say aren't as significant or important as we previously thought.

*not using your laptop for 4 days won't kill you.

*silence is beautiful.

*the Lord loves to speak to us when we are in silence.

*top ramen is not a food group.

*uno in silence and candlelight is very interesting and should be done more often :)

*when we shut our mouths, the Lord opens His...and breathes life on things we thought we let die within us. New creativity then sprouts forth as an incredible fresh start.

*silence showed us how to put value on things we previously overlooked.

*Thus, we all realized how much we loved and appreciated each other, as family, as fellow interns, as leaders, and as friends...*

It was a great week.

Monastic Daily Schedule

I know that some of you have expressed interest in what our daily schedule will look like while we are doing our Monastic week, so I've decided to just put up a quick summary of what all the interns will be participating in while this Monastic theme plays out.

Here's the lowdown:

Beginning on Tuesday (yesterday)
-Meet in the morning to discuss in more depth of what silence and solitude really means, and why we are doing this Monastic lifestyle for 4 days.
-Dinner in candlelight, no electricity from 5-6pm.
-Worship on the Pinnacle

Wednesday (today!)
-Monastic morning, meditate on the 365 names of God, courtesy of John Paul Jackson's 'I Am' CD. Then practice lectio divina with one scripture for an hour.
-Monastic lunch, and another monastic meal at dinner with no electric lights from 5-9pm.

-24 hours of silence begins...NOW!

Thursday
-9am to 12 noon - still in silence, spent in meditation or whatever you feel led to do.
-Noon to 5pm - still in silence.
-Monastic dinner at 5pm where silence breaks, but still no electric lights from 5-6pm.

Friday
-9am to 12 noon - silent morning
-1-5pm work duties
-Monastic dinner, no electric lights from 5-6pm.

Then at 6pm, Monastic week is officially over!!

Saturday will be spent visiting New London's town Ski Joring competition, sledding, laughing, and eating lots of sugar and meat...if you want to, that is :)

Monastic Week

Ahh, sweet silence.

Today is our very first in a series of four monastic days here at the intern house. Woo! We are going to practice a somewhat monastic lifestyle for the next four days to experience a new kind of outlook on life and the Lord. I think I speak for all of us when I say it falls under the category of 'scary-wonderful'.

We will be taking away meats, processed sugars and flours, unnecessary talking, music, and sometimes electric lights to just use candlelight. We will also have certain hours devoted to silence every night and a block of 24 hours of silence beginning on Wednesday night.

There is a quote found in Richard Foster's book, 'Celebration of Discipline' that says:

"There is an old proverb to the effect that 'all those who open their mouths, close their eyes!' The purpose of silence and solitude is to be able to see and hear. Control rather than no noise is the key to silence."

We think of this monastic week as being completely dedicated to the Lord. Our silence is just another way for us to connect with Him instead of focusing on our ourselves all day long, which in fact is a very common thread in most human being's lives. Sad, but true. The Lord desires our attention and our relationship with Him, so denying ourselves and what we want while focusing in on what He wants to say and do is honoring to Him.

That is the kind of sacrifice that matters. Psalm 50 talks a lot about what a real sacrifice is in the sight of the Lord. It's not all the physical possessions you have, but the heart that's behind it while giving thanks to the Lord.

"I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, for every animal of the forest is mine...Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."
- Psalm 50:9-15

We are all excited to experience this new life-perspective, and see what the Lord speaks through it all. I'll be sure to get back to you once our week is over to tell you all about how it went!

A Week with our Native Friends

Since we arrived back from the winter break, the interns have had a VERY busy schedule. Last week we were honored with a visit from two Native Americans named Dan and Elmer. Each of them brought stories, wisdom, unique insight and perspective, and friendship.

Several times we had the privilege of worshiping with our new friends as they led us in their traditional style with chants, hand drums, and a flute. They also shared testimonies and taught as well as simply spending time with us eating and having fellowship.

Elmer asked us the question, "How many of you are white?" Everyone raised their hands. Then he said that we all have a heritage and calling ourselves "white" robs us of our rich cultural family lines. He also encouraged us to seek out our cultural past.

The next day the interns visited a local Native American museum. The director of the museum gave us a very informative guided tour. We viewed relics, antiques, and modern Native American items... from bark canoes to tobacco pipes... primitive tools to modern clothing.

The week ended with a traditional protocol ceremony where several of the local tribal leaders honored Dan, Elmer, and our church body with gifts. The ceremony was amazing and many new relationships were formed. We are all bettered and transformed by the people around us.

Christmas is Over and A New Day Has Begun!

Hello everyone!

We are so excited to all be back here in New London, NH for the beginning of the new term. It has definitely started out with a bang!

Just the second day after the interns arrived from their restful Christmas breaks we rode out for a four day conference called "Kingdom Mechanics" at the Metrowest Bridge in Boston.

Bags were unpacked then re-packed, interns were stuffed into the van, and finally after two hours or so of an anchovy style van ride we arrived at Metrowest. As well as attending the conference, the interns also had other work duties and assignments so we could help in any way we could. It was an amazing learning experience for all of us.

The speakers were Jeff Jansen, Jeremy Nelson, and the pastor of the church, John Thomas. They each had tons of good words to share with the body. It was amazing to hear what the Lord had put on each of their hearts...

Many of the interns were really blessed and touched by the speakers, and a lot of inner healing was taking place. Even outer healing was breaking out!! There were many people who got up to receive healing and left later that night or afternoon with a miracle in their body. Backs, ears, thyroids, and even noses were healed that weekend!

The Lord was really doing some incredible stuff in everyone's lives during the conference, and I'm sure I can't even begin to comprehend all that it was...

All I can say for sure is He is good. All the time.

Off on break! Time to rest...

We have just finished our first trimester of school and are off for Christmas break! We are all excited to see our families and rest, but will also miss each other and the close bonds we have built over the last few months. So far this school year, we have completed the courses, The Art of Hearing God and Advanced Prophetic, and studied two of John Paul Jackson’s books, “Needless Casualties of War”, and “Unmasking the Jezebel Spirit”, both very powerful and needed books for the body. The depth we went in understanding and experiencing the material we have studied was life changing, and is still impacting us now as we go off for break. We will always have a moment of choice. What will you choose, your spirit or your soul?

We also ministered in Salem, MA during Haunted Happenings, a witch festival celebrating Halloween and the heritage of their culture. People from all around the world come to be involved in this 4-week event, and we were privileged to be apart as well. Many people who came inside our tents were touched deeply in their hearts. I love to see people transform as the Holy Spirit reveals to their spirit who they are created to be. They start believing again, and their hope is renewed. I was also very pleased with the interns and watching them grow from being just messengers to becoming lovers, feeling the Father’s heart for the people He longs to be with.

Now that the Fall Trimester is over, we can look forward for the plans God has for us in the coming terms. Thank you all for following us so far this year, we will be back soon after break ends on January 7^th. Streams School of Ministry wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and we hope the time you share with your family and friends is a blessing!

Snowy Sunday

This Sunday we had church service up on the Pinnacle for the first time in the snow! We had people doing everything from plowing the path up to the mountain, to making hot soup for fellowship after service and stoking the fire to keep us all warm and toasty. It was a Sunday full of new experiences, to be sure.

Our new army tents are up and functioning, finally! Now it's just a matter of keeping them functioning throughout the rest of the winter! Here are a few pictures of us assembling the tents...

So this Sunday we had our first ever experience of having church in the tents in the snow. There were only a few inches, but it definitely wasn't easy getting up there for everyone. We even had a shuttle going up and down for those without four wheel drive :)

Once we figured out how to get everyone up to the mountain, we finally got to do some worship on the mountain. Once we started, God really moved in those tents...For the last few Sundays Scott has been speaking on the true meaning of worship, that being a continual stream of adoration and worship from us to the Lord. It's all about Him. So this Sunday we had the opportunity to really walk that out in our worship, and the Lord showed up and blessed it. A huge portion of freedom and child-likeness was released in the tent and people were dancing and shouting for the Lord. It was so powerful and so pleasing to the Lord.

Hopefully the tents can keep us warm up there through the winter...we love worshiping on the mountain and the Lord really seems to speak while we're up there. For now we will just be up there as often as we can!

Feel free to keep us in your prayers about the mountain and all the stuff that God is doing in our internship and the body, we would really appreciate it!

What's Going On!

I know a lot of you find yourselves wondering about what in the world is going on with the interns and the church, so I decided it was time to have a little update post for everyone.

SO

We've been working really hard on the Pinnacle lately, trying to get the tent up and ready for church and worship nights in the colder weather. So far we have two HUGE military tents up there ready to receive heat from the stoves we'll be installing in each one. After they are heated, it will be so much more pleasant to be up there for hours on end. And believe me, we want to be up there for hours on end :) God is doing awesome stuff up there.

The things God is going to be doing in the church, the internship, and the Pinnacle are going to be amazing. We want to be as prepared as possible for whatever God wants to do...so these tents are going to be such a blessing for the church and the interns because now we don't have to freeze our faces off in the winter on the mountain, and if all goes well, we will be able to meet in the high school as little as possible.

Besides work we've been having a blast as the holidays come nearer and nearer. A few of the interns went home for Thanksgiving (including myself) and the rest got to spend the day with close friends and church members who were willing to take them in :) We have just a few more weeks until Christmas break when all the interns will go home for a few weeks with their families. Then we'll be back at it in January for round 2!

I think I speak for all of us when I say my experience here has been a "scary-wonderful" one so far. There has been an extraordinary amount of change and growth just by being in this house and learning from our teachers and leaders. For me, I've never wanted to change more than I do right now. God is doing so much in my life and I just get to hand my heart over to Him and watch Him do the work in me. It's a real blessing to be in this atmosphere of grace for this new season.

He Is The Potter

I’ve often wondered at the enormity of God and His ultimate power to change and convict us in our hearts. He is a huge God. He has all the power and all the glory. He is the potter and we are the clay. He has the power to mold us and change us in whatever way He sees fit…because He is the potter, not us.

Can you imagine how deformed and hideous we would all look if we tried to mold ourselves?? We could say we were molding ourselves in His image, but we’ve had no training, no experience, and no tangible example to work from. How can we make anything from our own hands when our human minds cannot even comprehend His image or His character? He is just so much more qualified, and once you realize that, change will become easier and easier for you to let go of.

It’s hard to let go! Trust me, I know. I am a recovering control freak, and let me tell you it has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, just to let go of my own will to change. I always try to change those little things I don’t like about myself, and sometimes really big things. But it never works out. The Lord doesn’t want us to go digging through our character flaws, trying to find something to fix. He is the fixer. He is the potter.

Since when did we as Christians say that changing and growing is something we can induce out of our own power?

“The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. The world, and all who live in it; for He founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.” – Psalm 24:1-2

As His ultimate creation, we have no power to change anything about ourselves. Have you ever seen a painting reach out of it’s own canvas to add another splash of color where the painter didn’t intend it? Have you ever witnessed a pot of soup reach out of it’s liquidy depths to add another dash of salt? It would be insulting to the cook! And I’m an Italian who loves to cook…I know what it feels like when someone pours ketchup all over the alfredo sauce I worked so hard on to get all the flavors balanced just right.

Have you ever seen a clay pot reach out with its’ own arms and smooth out presumed blemishes left behind by the potter?

We cannot assume we have the right to change anything about ourselves, no matter how blemished or spotted we believe ourselves to be. It just isn’t our place.

"Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord." - Jeremiah 17:5

For example, we as Christians tend to feel obligated to “prepare a sanctuary for our Lord” in our hearts…which usually ends up looking like “searching through our obviously human flesh to find each and every blemish so we can smooth it out and cover it up by the time the Creator runs and inspection.” However, this unnecessary fleshly exertion is not what He intended and if it were, we would all have the power to make ourselves perfect and He as God would no longer have Creator, beautifier, or perfector in His job description. If it were our job to make sure we were beautiful and spotless every single time He walked by we would never see His glory or feel His presence…or experience His grace.

So the next time you find yourself looking inward, excavating every bone and skeleton from the closet in the depths of your heart, look to the Creator…look to the one who longs to mold your heart till it’s tender and soft…look to the one who perfected every inch of you and created every cell in your body. He is the only one qualified for that job. He’s the only one who can create true and irreversible change in our hearts.

We just can’t do it on our own.

A painful lesson I’ve barely scratched the surface of, believe me.

Maybe this post has left you wondering about your own efforts to change; maybe it just gave you a little needed perspective; maybe you knew all of this already but it was good to see someone else’s struggle to make you feel a bit less alone in your own growth process. If any of these described your feelings while reading this then I will be satisfied. I know that it helps me to see someone else’s story before reading my own…to understand that what my peers are going through is usually very similar to what I’m going through. It’s nice to feel like you’re surrounded by people who are dealing with the very same things…the task suddenly seems a lot less daunting.

So please, don’t think you are the muddiest or dirtiest lamb in the bunch…that is not the Lord’s heart for you. He think you are the greatest, whitest, most spotless lamb in the flock and He is ultimately pleased with you. You are His creation; His masterpiece. So submit to His grace and let yourself be changed by the power in His hands. He wants to be the one to do it…

Unconditional Love

When we are born we learn very quickly that we have desires and that if we act in a certain manner those desires and needs will be met. We whine; our parents will serve us. We cry; our parents will hold us. In the same way, we pray surely God will give us our desires. Over the course of our lives we then learn that the world does not revolve around us; that we are not the center of the universe.

Currently many of us in the internship are realizing that we are selfish in our relationships. To quote the band Me without You, “We say our love is real... but what we mean is I like the way you make me feel.” We like what others do for us... we like what the Lord does for us... but our “love” is really a selfish feeling. In actual fact, parents are made for their children, husbands are to lay down their lives for their wives, truly a man has no greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. In essence, we are to love God with everything we are and prefer others above ourselves. We need to become more concerned about the Lord's feelings. To fill the needs and desires of others devoid of any selfish motive, indeed, before any thought of self comes to mind.
This process, that of becoming a selfless lover, is one of unearthing embedded false motives and the deeply lodged expectation of a return on our investment; a trait that is so prevalent in our western culture today.

If one requests Love himself to make them a selfless lover they can expect a measure of pain as their selfish humanity is laid bare; as their dark hidden agendas are brought to the light. But it is this same painful process that brings a glorious opportunity for change, a chance for a new way of loving, and though difficult results in something truly beautiful. A being free to love without condition; a reflection of a love that transcends all. A reflection of Jesus.

Road Trip to White Mountains

Last weekend all the interns took a road trip to the White Mountains, a beautiful drive that had lots of great scenic spots to stop and explore. We had a splendid time adventuring through the rocks and rivers, saw some gorgeous views, and stopped at one of the best spots to look up at the stars. It was a magical trip full of magical scenery. Here are some of the pictures!

It was a lovely day for a road trip...even though it was so cold our faces felt like they could fall off at any moment due to excessive smiling and whipping wind :)

Well I'm off to Goodwill to get me a classy Christmas sweater - if there is such a thing. Blessings on you and the rest of your week!
